From Plastic Waste to School Chairs
Twenty kilos of discarded plastic can become one chair for a student. The Plastic Flamingo, National Book Store, and Pandayan Bookshop are working together to turn collected plastic waste into school chairs. Each chair uses around 20 kilos of plastic that might otherwise end up in landfills or waterways. It is recycling with a purpose people can actually see, touch, and sit on. The project brings together environmental care, creativity, and bayanihan to give discarded materials a useful second life. Sometimes malasakit looks like many people saving their plastic instead of throwing it away.
