When Surplus Food Finds a Better Home

In Barangay Commonwealth, more than 80 youth volunteers collect usable surplus produce from public markets every Wednesday and Saturday night. Through the Reskyusi Food Basket Program, the food is cleaned and distributed to families instead of being sent to landfills. Produce that can no longer be eaten is composted and turned into fertilizer for local gardens.
